Does the case fit the machine with the accessory tray on?

On the hard-case samples, the case is molded for the machine body. The accessory tray usually stays on the machine or stores inside the case. Check the case depth if you keep a thread stand attached.

Is a hard case better than a soft bag for storage?

A hard case protects against bumps and dust better than a soft bag. A soft bag is lighter and easier to fold when empty. Both keep the machine covered between uses.

Does the case add weight when I sew?

No. The case comes off while you sew. You set it aside and the machine sits on the table as usual. The case only matters when you pack up.

What a sewing machine with a case is

A sewing machine with a case is a machine sold with a cover or bag for storage and carrying. The case is part of the product, not a separate purchase. It protects the machine when you put it away or move it between rooms.

Hard case versus soft bag
